Specifically, Tandem exists to: Create educational and outreach programs and materials related to providing high quality prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum care; Provide evidence-based prenatal, perinatal and postpartum health services to underserved populations; Support families in their child bearing years through activities that build community and increase connection; Expand the range of safe, high quality, accessible birth-related care options available to the community; Educate community members and professionals about the Midwifery Model of Care; Demonstrate excellence in care through statistic-tracking and increased transparency; Improve outcomes related to the morbidity and/or mortality of populations served; Increase access to midwifery care; Solicit and receive funds for the accomplishment of the above purposes.
