Over the past year the Gallup McKinley County Chamber of Commerce has successfully worked to build commerce and collaboration for the benefit of our members and the community. The chamber has advocated on behalf of small business at the city, county, and state levels of government. Our organization was a key contributor to decisions on policies that impacted the environment of commerce. At the City level we continued to work with City of Gallup leadership to find alternative solutions to a proposed plan that would have raised water rates throughout the city by as much as 200 in some instances. At the state level our Chamber was instrumental in rallying our membership against a Paid Family Medical Leave Act that was deemed to be unsustainable and very toxic legislation for businesses as well as their employees. On a county wide level, we were successful in bringing back a big civic event, that celebrates our heritage and culture on Route 66. Our chamber is also proud to bring networking and connection for our businesses through events like the Business Expo, Business After Hours, and our Annual Banquet. These accomplishments along with the continued promotional support for businesses in Gallup/McKinley County show our commitment to the values of Commerce Collaboration and Community.
