Household Bill Assistance:Silver Horizons helps low-income seniors and low-income veterans pay important household bills. Many of the people we assist have either past-due bills, or they have received disconnect notices. Silver Horizons assists with water, landline telephone, internet, vet bills for seniors and veterans pets, electric, gas, firewood and propane (if primary source of heat) and rent. Minor Home Repairs/Retrofits:Silver Horizons assist with minor home repairs and retrofits. We help with essential repairs under $500 for senior citizens who qualify for our program.Food Distribution:Our goal is to provide free groceries (monthly) to about 2,500 impoverished seniors and veterans, and to nearly 900 grandchildren many of these households are raising. Free groceries are distributed in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Tijeras, primarily through food pantries and home deliveries.
