The Organization is an outgrowth of Saint Luke's Health System to address clinical care of patients suffering from cardiometabolic disease. The purpose of its program is to develop a comprehensive, collaborative approach to the treatment of this disease in lieu of what historically had been a fragmented and isolated approach across different specialties and fields. A key element of the program has been the development and maintenance of a data registry that tracks care and outcomes over time, and serves as the basis for the further development of recommended treatment protocols and strategies. The Organization is intended to be a national collaborative of providers and institutions committed to improving the quality of care and outcomes of patients with cardiometabolic disease by focusing on comprehensive risk reduction. The Organization's data registry will be valuable for outcomes measures, quality and process improvement, and research opportunities - both as real-world evidence and as a clinical trial platform.
