In 2025, The Second Look Project advanced its mission of reducing mass incarceration and expanding second chances through direct legal representation, pro bono support, and reentry services. SLP represented individuals seeking sentence reductions and other post-conviction relief, including relief under the District of Columbia Incarceration Reduction Amendment Act (IRAA). SLP also provided legal support, training, and technical assistance to pro bono and other attorneys representing individuals under the IRAA, strengthening the capacity of the legal community to provide high-quality representation and expanding access to second-chance relief. In addition, SLP provided holistic reentry services to individuals returning to the community, including release planning, case management, referrals, and ongoing support to promote successful reintegration and long-term stability.
