PROJECT STREET VET

Project Street Vet is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity which empowers veterinary teams to deliver professional, non-judgmental medical care & support to pet families experiencing homelessness and housing vulnerability. Our vision is to create a world where veterinary care is accessible to every pet family. We strive to remove barriers to veterinary care for this vulnerable population who may not otherwise have access to pet health care by meeting them where they are at, ultimately helping to keep families together. Our core programs are:Street Vet Work: Volunteer veterinary teams provide direct vet-to-pet services by walking city streets to identify individuals experiencing homelessness with pets. Once identified, core vaccines, flea treatments, spay/neuter resources, and other essential supplies are provided at no cost.Free Pet Clinics: Project Street Vet partners with organizations serving people experiencing homelessness to host free pet clinics. At clinic events, volunteer veterinary teams provide the same vital services as they do during Street Vet Work, but at a higher volume working alongside community partners.Veterinary Case Management: From needed diagnostics to emergency surgeries, Project Street Vet sponsors the cost of care for our client's veterinary needs if it is beyond what we can do during our street and clinic outreach. Funding goes directly to pet hospitals.Pet Pantries: We have piloted two pet food pantries in Southern California, one in Los Angeles and one in Long Beach.Continued stats of pets assisted each month and year can be found here:https://www.projectstreetvet.org/our-work
