Fellows benefit from expert-led training, PhD-level research guidance, a leadership certificate from UVAs Frank Batten School, and up to $5,000 in micro-grant funding to pilot local initiativesFosters a national cohort and alumni network of over 30 law enforcement departments (including Chicago, Evanston, Boston, Denver, Los Angeles), where officers exchange peer support, best practices, and scalable solutionsHas catalyzed multiple community-trust initiativessuch as restorative justice programs, enhanced transparency in traffic stops, compassionate reentry protocols, and gender equity reformsthat are currently under rigorous evaluation by partner universities.To date, New Blue has directly supported over 100 reform-minded officers, transforming local policing systems through co-designed community strategies and sustained impact measurements
