During the initial year of this organization, The Emily Victoria Solek Memorial Scholarship Fund focused on generating contribution revenue to attain assets for the primary purpose of awarding a scholarship each year to a graduate of Stoney Creek High School in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Substantial donations were received and an endowment fund of $100,000 was set up with the nonprofit organization, the Rochester Community Schools Foundation (TIN 38-3269615), before the end of 2020. The first scholarship was awarded in 2021. The Rochester Community Schools Foundation will administer the application process for the Emily Victoria Solek Memorial Scholarship as well as other local scholarships. The Rochester Community Schools Foundation will also select the recipient of the Emily Victoria Solek Memorial Scholarship, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors of The Emily Victoria Solek Memorial Scholarship Fund. The endowment is held in investment and managed by The Rochester Community Schools Foundation's investment advisor and is governed by its Board of Directors.
