POS is committed to addressing the social, cultural, environmental, emotional, and economic conditions that low-income marginalized community members live in. Operating like an organism with clear political views we use data, black psychology, and applied metrics to dismantle social inequities. PORT OF SUPPORT Equitable Housing Design Program transforming the balance of approaches and techniques being used to house our most vulnerable community members. In Feb 2021 P.O.S was awarded their Equitable Housing Design Model Funding geared towards keeping BIPOC & African American marginalized community members housed during the COIVID-19 pandemic. To support our increased demand for housing services P.O.S hired on Tenants union member Tyrone Brown. Tyrone was under a subcontract agreement with P.O.S in which they would receive phone calls from all over WA, but only referred clients to P.O.S who were in Thurston County and needed rental assistance. In 2021 P.O.S was able to house about 19 clients. P.O.S offers Emergency rental assistance to clients who have been financially impacted due to COVID-19. Clients must qualify through P.O.S Intake form before they are able to receive services. In 2021 P.O.S received 17 intake forms paying out $45,124.00 in rental supportive services. And out of $45,124.00 in rental assistance, $ 12,655.31 went directly to landlords and $ 14,504.12 went towards hotels for families who had already lost their homes and have been living in motels. The remaining housing funds went towards housing needs for families who had lost everything and needed storages, food, and clothes. P.O.S also spent $10,299.82 in PPE supplies to protect our Staff and our most disadvantage & marginalized community members from contracting COVID-19. Included: in P.O.S. application are rental receipts paid directly to landlords totally in the amount of $12,655.31 plus landlords W-9s, P.O.S PPE receipts totally in the amount of $10,299.82, P.O.S. Rental Assistance Intake Form, Subcontract agreement between Tyrone Brown Tenants Union member & P.O.S
