In 2024 Hearts For The Invisible Charlotte Coalition served 863 individuals in Mecklenburg County, including 190 children under the age of 18, and 20 Veterans. 414 identified as a woman, 436 identified as a man, 7 as transgender and 2 as non-binary/questioning. Of those served 482 people who reported mental health issues, 318 people who reported chronic health condition, 307 reported a substance use disorder, 196 reported a physical disability and 137 reported a developmental disability. Our team provided benefit assistance with 67 individuals, 40 healthcare referrals, 66 shelter referrals, assisted 77 individuals with housing search and applications, connected 45 individuals to mental health services, 20 individuals to substance use services, and helped 89 individuals obtain their vital records. Lastly, HFTICC's Outreach team achieved 472 positive exits from our homeless street outreach program, meaning 472 neighbors are no longer living in a place not meant for human habitation (e.g., street, car, abandoned building), and have moved into permanent, temporary, or emergency shelter living situations. Of those, 121 individuals move into permanent housing.
