Mission

The purpose for which the corporation is formed is to foster an intelligent appreciation of the dance as an art form through performances, lectures and demonstration to pre-professional students throughout the Greater Saratoga Region. Saratoga Springs Youth Ballet, Inc will strive to provide training and performing experience for amateur dancers and choreographers, and to provide a means for them to display their abilities in a non-competitive environment. During its fifth year of operations, Saratoga Springs Youth Ballet continued to provide high-quality dance training to over 130 children from the Greater Saratoga Region, including four scholarship recipients. The corporation consistently works to expand its outreach programs, having presented performances at the Saratoga Springs Public Library, The Hyde Collection, Home of the Good Shepherd, and seven public schools. Additionally, Saratoga Springs Youth Ballet students participated in the Victorian Street Walk in Saratoga Springs, performed with the Glens Falls Symphony Orchestra at the Glens Falls High School, and appeared at the Festival of Young Artists at the Saratoga Arts Performing Arts Center. Approximately 120 dancers performed in our fourth Nutcracker production at the University at Albany Performing Arts Center, with free tickets provided to AIM Services, Capital Pride Center, and Greenwich Youth Center.In May, twelve dancers traveled to Scranton, PA, to attend the Regional Dance America Northeast Festival. All Saratoga Springs Youth Ballet students performed at the June Spring Concert. Our students are never charged audition, performance, or costume fees. Over a period of six weeks, we offered four distinct summer programs with renowned dance educators.
