Canine Behavior Program - Led by our canine behavior team, focuses on supporting dogs with behavioral challenges to improve their adoptability and overall quality of life. Through individualized behavior modification plans and training, we work with approximately 100 dogs in partner shelters per year, addressing issues ranging from fear and anxiety to agression. In addition to working with organizations, we assist individuals and their dogs, providing behavior support to prevent owner surrenders and help people live harmoniously with their pets. In 2023, we expanded our reach by creating an educational video library, accessible through our website, which provided critical behavior resources to over 500 people. These videos equip dog owners and foster caregivers with essential tools for managing and improving canine behavior. This year, we also enhanced our rehabilitation methods, enabling more dogs to successfully transition into adoptive homes or foster care.

Animal Sanctuary - At Askas Animals, we operate an animal sanctuary that opens its doors to individual animals including pigs, goats, chickens, and horses, on a carefully considered case-by-case basis. Our sanctuary serves as a haven for these animals, offering a refuge from challenging circumstances and less-than-ideal living conditions. Many of the animals that become part of our program do so because their previous owners could no longer provide adequate care or they found themselves in less-than-ideal living situations. In 2023, we provided permanent sanctuary to 3 horses, 16 pigs, 3 goats, and a multitude of chickens.
