Since 1957, SRM has provided safe emergency shelter, meals, and clothing to anyone in need. All participants are experiencing homelessness and living below the federal poverty line at intake. Located in Flagstaff, we have three facilities. The rescue mission is our emergency food kitchen and emergency-restoration shelter for men. We also operate two gender specific shelters, which includes an array of supportive wrap around services - hope cottage (for women and women with their children) and sanctuary house ( for men). A significant number of men and women living at our three locations have previously battled substance abuse to cope with challenging circumstances. For those pursuing recovery in our midst, we offer comprehensive, trauma-informed, life-changing support. At SRM, we welcome and aide everyone who seeks refuge and assistance.Sunshine Rescue Mission (SRM) provide a hand-up and out of hunger and homelessness by providing meals, shelter, healing recovery and transition housing

In 2025 we rescued over 72 Tons of food, (close to expiration), from grocery stores and restaurants. With that food we prepared 29,350 meals and provided a warm bed 23,347 times. We gave away over 6,000 pieces of clothing and provided 2,500 showers to people not residing with us. 800 people attended addiction recovery classes. We are so grateful for the 450 outside speakers who came in to teach and the 1000+ volunteers who came to help. Our staff met with people in crisis, providing advised personal care 500 + times. These numbers are down due to 2 facility closures caused by 2 hail induced roof failures. All facilities are now fully operational.
