DURING FISCAL YEAR 2024, WE WERE BACK TO NORMAL PROGRAMMING AFTER A YEAR OF TRANSITION POST-MOVE TO OUR NEW HEADQUARTERS IN RIDGEWOOD, QUEENS. WE HOSTED 4 LABS (COLLABORATIVE STUDIO, EARLY PRODUCTION LAB, RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT LAB, AND POD POD) THAT UNITED 47 EARLY CAREER ARTISTS, PRODUCING 7 SHORT DOCUMENTARIES FOR DISTRIBUTION AND DEVELOPING 23 WORK-IN-PROGRESS FEATURES AND 12 WORK-IN-PROGRESS AUDIO PROJECTS FOR PRODUCTION. WORKSHOPS WERE BACK, ENGAGING 33 ARTISTS TO LEAD TWO-TO-SIX DAY COURSES FOR 333 PARTICIPANTS, TOTALING 13 WORKSHOP THEMES ON THE STRONGEST TRADITIONS AND MOST FORWARD-LOOKING EXPERIMENTS IN DOCUMENTARY ART. WE PROGRAMMED 35 EVENTS SHOWCASING POWERFUL WORKS BY 100 ARTISTS FOR A LOCAL AUDIENCE OF 2,094 AND AN INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIP OF 2,400 VIEWERS, SPARKING IMPORTANT ISSUE-DRIVEN CONVERSATIONS. FINALLY, THERE WAS A LAUNCH OF TWO PUBLICATIONS OF RESEARCH-DRIVEN, CRITICAL WRITING REGARDING RADICAL FORMS OF NONFICTION FILMMAKING FROM OUR FELLOWSHIP COHORT, WHICH WAS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY THE NOMINATION PROCESS TO SELECT THE NEXT PAIRS OF 4 ARTISTS AND 4 WRITERS TO COMMISSION NEW RESEARCH. A SIGNIFICANT UPDATE IN OUR ORGANIZATION DURING FISCAL YEAR 2024 WAS THE OFFICIAL COMMENCEMENT OF A CAPITAL CAMPAIGN TO UNDERTAKE A WHOLE BUILDING RENOVATION IN OUR NEW HEADQUARTERS.
