EDUCATION & OUTREACH: IN 2023, THE GEENA DAVIS INSTITUTE LEVERAGED ITS DEEP CONNECTIONS WITHIN THE MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY TO DRIVE MEANINGFUL CHANGE. THROUGH HUNDREDS OF VIRTUAL TRAINING SESSIONS, WORKSHOPS, AND PRESENTATIONS, GDI PROVIDED ACTIONABLE STEPS FOR CONTENT CREATORS, EDUCATORS, AND PARENTS TO COMBAT SYSTEMIC STEREOTYPES AND HARMFUL BEHAVIORS IN MEDIA. OUR SALONS AND GLOBAL SYMPOSIUMS DREW NEARLY 1,000 INDUSTRY INSIDERS, WITH EVENTS COVERING CRITICAL TOPICS LIKE CLOSING THE CYBER GENDER GAP, THE PORTRAYAL OF CAREGIVING, AND REPRESENTATION IN CHILDREN'S TELEVISION.ADDITIONALLY, GDI SUPPORTED THE ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN IN STEM THROUGH OUR ONGOING WORK WITH THE EMMY-WINNING SERIES MISSION UNSTOPPABLE. THIS GROUNDBREAKING SHOW HIGHLIGHTS FEMALE INNOVATORS ACROSS STEM FIELDS, PROVIDING YOUNG VIEWERS WITH DIVERSE ROLE MODELS WHO CHALLENGE STEREOTYPES. GDI'S ROLE AS AN EXECUTIVE PRODUCER ALLOWED US TO CONTINUE SHAPING THE NARRATIVE AROUND GENDER EQUITY IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY.
