Community Development The Key Peninsula Healthy Community (KPHC) is a community hub organization. We bring together many different assets to create programs, connections, and activities that strengthen the community as a whole. Our collaborative work stretches across all parts of the community and includes community members, service organizations, non-profit agencies, the business community, policy makers, and government entities/law makers. We focus on projects which have major impacts for the community at large and require coordination, trust building, time, and effort to plan and implement. Our primary focus areas are transportation, health and wellness (including access to care activities), childcare (increasing slots and availability locally), hunger, and organizational capacity development.

Community Outreach Community outreach and development are complex activities. The Key Peninsula Healthy Community (KPHC) strengthens the Key Peninsula by connecting the community. Our work is guided by the Key Peninsula community through listening to and acting on its values and visions. Community Outreach is the process of identifying visions, building trust and legitimacy as a community partner, and maintaining that trust once earned. Our activities include twice weekly information updates distributed through multiple channels to the community; creation of Key Peninsula-specific resource guides on transportation, food resources, and health access distributed to thousands of residents and partner organizations through both print and electronic media; leading and/or collaborating on community forums; a robust and regularly updated social media presence; and regular meetings with stakeholders from all areas of the community.
