Alliance for Rare Cancers (ARC): A program of the Jedi Rare Cancer Foundation, ARC was launched as a collaborative consortium of researchers, clinicians, patients, and advocates in the rare cancer space. The program facilitates the development of research proposals, fosters partnerships with academic centers, industry, and government, and supports pilot studies that aim to advance preclinical and clinical discoveries. Through these efforts, the Alliance works to expand resources, increase awareness, and accelerate progress toward improved treatments and outcomes for patients with rare cancers.In 2024, Jedi Rare Cancer Foundation funded ARC initiatives included periodically convening meetings of rare cancer stakeholders through the completion of a strategic planning process; and engaging volunteer leadership to develop multiple research proposals for nationally scalable solutions to address rare cancers. Two pilot projects were fully developed as proposals for funding. An AI-based biomarker diagnostic tool to deliver a scalable, cost-effective path to ensure patient access to the latest targeted therapies; and a nationwide scalable solution for a bedside-bench-bedside program building on Cure: The Rare Cancer Initiative at Case Comprehensive Cancer Center* and data platforms of the Rare Cancer Research Foundation by characterizing patient biopsies to discover better treatment approaches for rare cancer patients.
