Empowerment Zone Reentry Initiative serves citizens of Miami Dade County who are returning to the community from incarceration in Federal or State prisons or county jails. Our purpose is to reduce recidivism by working with each returning citizen to create a plan for their future that eliminates barriers, increases opportunities, repairs relationships and strengthens families and communities. 1 - We provide wrap around case management services that include advocacy and referrals to medical and mental health care, substance abuse treatment, employment and training programs, education, housing and legal services. We work with the Probation Officers and the Courts to assist clients in compliance with the requirements of their probation and court orders. We work directly with at least 30 clients who walk into our office for services each week. 2. We provide mental health counseling for individuals, couples, families and groups, helping clients to work through issues of trauma, PTSD, relationships and communications.We train Mental Health Counselors and Social Workers in provision of services to marginalized See Part III, Ln 4a statement
