The Institute conducts research, writes articles, prepares studies, conducts interviews and speaks at public fora to increase the pubic's understanding and knowledge of - (i) our unique constitutional system of government with it's limits on the power and scope of government, checks and balances, separation of powers, and its guarantee of fundamental rights; (ii) the costs and benefits of energy regulations, energy taxes, and energy subsidies; (iii) the costs and benefits of governmental regulations on business and how it impacts average, everyday Americans; (iv) what it means to provide for the common defense given the current threats that face the United States and its allies and how to provide that defense given the real world threats that exist and how foreign policy can be a tool to protect and defend America; and (v) how the press and media and accountability plays an important role in our form of democracy in informing and educating the public and how an informed public is best suited to combat corruption and abuses within government.
