Mothers coming from shelters are eager to join because they desire to live within a supportive community and perceive Parent Next Door as a further healing home. The mothers referred through Asheville's Housing Choice Voucher Program struggle balancing motherhood and career and desire the companionship and the many other benefits encompassed in communal living. Parent Next Door's supportive community, parenting and financial training, plus the potential to become a homeowner, is a dream come true.
