THE LONG MEADOW ARTS RESIDENCY ("LMAR") IS A PLACE WHERE ARTISTS FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS CREATE AND PRACTICE THEIR CRAFT OF DRAWING, PAINTING, SCULPTURE, MOSAIC, PHOTOGRAPHY, FILM, VIDEO, OR INTERDISCIPLINARY PRACTICES AND BEYOND. THE GOAL ATTAINED DURING THE RESIDENCY IS TO PROVIDE ASPIRING ARTISTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE AND WORK OUTSIDE OF THEIR USUAL HOME SPACE, AFFORDING THEM TIME FOR REFLECTION, RESEARCH, DISCOVERY, AND FOCUS IN A STRESS-FREE ENVIRONMENT IN ORDER TO EMERGE ACCOMPLISHED IN THEIR CREATIONS. THIS SUPPORTS THE IMPASSIONED ARTIST'S QUALITY OF LIFE AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT IN ALL CREATIVE DISCIPLINES. (SEE SCHEDULE O). THE LOCATION WAS SPECIFICALLY CHOSEN FOR THE SPECTACULAR LANDSCAPE OF ROLLING HILLS, LAKES, AND FARMS DRAWING UPON THE DEEP HISTORY OF ART AND CREATIVITY. THE BERKSHIRES, HOME TO A MYRIAD OF ART, THEATER, DANCE, MUSIC, FILM AND HISTORIC SITES AND KNOWN FOR ITS NATURAL BEAUTY AND EASE OF USE IS HOME TO ICONIC LOCATIONS SUCH AS TANGLEWOOD FOR MUSIC AND JACOB'S LADDER FOR MODERN DANCE.
