COMPETITION: THE 2024 ARTISTS COMPETITION RECEIVED APPLICATIONS FROM 333 PIANISTS FROM 40 COUNTRIES. 120 PIANISTS PERFORMED IN HAMBURG, HONG KONG, NEW YORK CITY OR SALT LAKE CITY. 37 PIANISTS FROM 11 COUNTRIES COMPETED IN SALT LAKE CITY IN JUNE, VYING FOR 107,000 IN PRIZE MONEY. 12 SEMIFINALISTS PERFORMED A NEW WORK BY ACCLAIMED COMPOSER GABRIELA FRANK. 3 FINALISTS PLAYED OVER TWO EVENINGS OF CONCERTO PERFORMANCES WITH THE UTAH SYMPHONY.
