Through a competitive application process, the organization awarded subgrants to 17 community-based nonprofits, public schools, and library partners that demonstrated capacity to deliver evidence-based reading instruction and family literacy support.Subgrant recipients used funds to implement activities such as early-grade reading interventions, adult basic education classes, English-language learning programs, and parent engagement workshops. The organization provided technical assistance, progress monitoring, and evaluation tools to ensure program fidelity and measurable outcomes.English as a Second Language Program - The Literacy Coalition of the Permian Basin advanced its literacy and educational mission by operating five English as a Second Language (ESL) programs for adults and families with limited English proficiency. The program provided structured language instruction, conversation practice, and literacy support to help participants improve communication skills essential for employment, community engagement, and daily living. The organization offered multiple levels of instruction, from beginner to advanced, and provided classes at no cost through partnerships with local schools, community centers, and faith-based organizations.
