Lynx-Wildlife Project: We completed our 3rd year of the Lynx Wildlife Research, answering critical questions about how lynx navigate landscape transformed by climate-driven mega-wildfires. In 2024-2025, we collared and tracked 10 Lynx in Okanogan County, and collected important vegetation plots to better understand lynx habitat and movements in burned and unburned environments within the study area. We partnered with several Universities while supporting 2 graduate students, 2 university fellows, and 7 undergraduate interns, whose efforts are advancing our understanding of wildlife and burned landscapes.

Human-Bear Co-Existance Project: We collected data long walking transections on critical bear food resources and set remote wildlife cameras to document occupancy of black bears for the 3rd field season. We worked with 40 community scientist volunteers to help us collect field data and analyze over 10,000 photos of wildlife occupancy along these transects. Initial analyses show that presence of wildfire and serviceberry abundance are critical indicators for black bears habitat and use in the study area.
