Minnesota Prevention & Recovery Alliance (MnPRA) is a Recovery Community Organization (RCO) dedicated to education, advocacy, and peer recovery support services. As a trusted, community-based organization, MnPRA works across Minnesota to prevent substance use, reduce stigma, and support individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.(Continued on Schedule O)Key Outcomes in 2024: * Reached and educated over 60,000 youth on the risks and consequences of substance misuse through in-school and community-based prevention presentations. * Planned and executed 12 large-scale community education events, reaching more than 10,000 parents and community members with evidence-based youth prevention strategies and tools for early intervention. * Provided peer recovery support services to 7,189 unique individuals, including one-on-one coaching, recovery planning, and connection to housing, employment, and health services.Program Objectives: * Promote healthy attitudes toward substance use: Students who participate in our prevention programming are up to 5 times less likely to initiate substance use, according to post-presentation surveys and feedback. * Expand access to treatment services: In 2024, MnPRA made 121 direct referrals to treatment providers, helping individuals navigate barriers and engage in services appropriate to their recovery stage. * Reduce relapse and overdose risk: Our peer support model emphasizes long-term engagement, accountability, and recovery maintenance, contributing to a measurable decrease in crisis events among the individuals we serve.MnPRA continues to serve as a statewide leader in substance use prevention and recovery, leveraging lived experience, professional expertise, and community partnerships to drive positive outcomes.
