Program Service AccomplishmentsArts For The Schools provides standards-based visual and performing arts programming to students in grades TK12 across California and Nevada.Assemblies and Performances:The organization presents in-school assemblies featuring professional musicians, dancers, and cultural artists. Programs introduce students to diverse artistic traditions while supporting curriculum integration and social-emotional development.Masterclasses and Artist Residencies:Professional artists work directly with middle and high school students through rehearsals, coaching, and collaborative performance experiences aligned with state arts standards.Before- and After-School Enrichment:Extended learning programs, including string instruction, guitar, and visual arts, provide ongoing skill development and creative engagement for students in grades 112.In-School Visual Arts Instruction:Weekly visual arts classes are delivered by professional artists and credentialed instructors. Curriculum aligns with California and Nevada Visual Arts Content Standards and integrates interdisciplinary learning across science, math, social studies, and SEL.Workshops and Community Arts Programs:Hands-on workshops in traditional and contemporary art forms serve students and community members of all ages, fostering intergenerational learning and cultural exchange.Public Art and Murals:Community-based mural projects engage youth, elders, and professional artists to create site-specific public artworks that reflect regional heritage and strengthen community identity.Place-Based Arts Education Musical Field Journal Initiative:A multidisciplinary program integrating Earth science, ecology, language arts, and the visual and performing arts through original music commissions, illustrated songbooks, and classroom programming that promotes environmental stewardship and social-emotional learning.
