The board was established in 2022, so there is no prior history of program operations or success. After it's formation, the board raised funds to host an awareness gala for the community in December of 2022 with a goal of achieving (3) to (5) letters of support for 2023 grant applications and to create excitement for the 2023 fundraising strategies and goals the organization has mapped out. The gala was a combined effort of local companies and their staff, 17 RTP volunteers (including active Board Members). The gala was a success, and the board receive (4) letters of support from local organizations for grant application packages, and have established critical community relationships to enhance their mission with the following organizations:Preservation North Carolina, Economic Development Team of Cleveland County, Appalachian Regional Commission, City of Shelby, The Uptown Shelby Association, Shelby Historic Preservation, Cleveland County Chamber of Commerce
