In 2024, the Women's Coaching Alliance (WCA) trained and placed 71 young women as coaches across 6 different sports in 7 communities throughout the Bay Area. Our greatest growth and challenge this year has been expanding our reach across new geographies, bringing our proven leadership-through-coaching model to more young women and youth athletes. Each WCA coach receives comprehensive training on effective coaching techniques and leadership development, along with custom research-based practice plans created by the WCA team to guide them through each session of the season. Every coach is also supported by volunteer adult mentors who provide guidance and encouragement throughout their coaching journey. 100% of our coaches report they want to coach again - and many do -demonstrating the impact and sustainability of our model.
