An important focus of BlackECE is to advocate for California's youngest Black children, their families and Black child care providers. We were invited to join the steering committee of the Alliance for Reparations, Reconciliation and Truth. Our workshop proposal for National Associaiton for Family Child Care was accepted, and we began planning our first symposium on research, policy and practice.

Child Care Provider Support: We hosted virtual monthly meetings which had up to 30 child care providers participating. We also included them in training on BlackECEs core messaging. They also went to Sacramento to share their stories with legislators and give comment at a budget hearing. We also provided gift cards over the year to encourage their self-care. Our advocates also presented at conferences like NAFCC in St. Louis, to share how important it is to advocate as a Black early educator. 10 Lift Every Voice advocates were able to travel, with all expenses covered.
