HER STORIES RANGED FROM STATE HOUSING LEGISLATION TO LOCAL AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROJECTS TO A HEARTWARMING STORY ABOUT EDMONDS TRAVEL WRITER RICK STEVES PURCHASING A BUILDING TO ENSURE THAT THOSE WHO ARE UNHOUSED CAN CONTINUE TO RECEIVE SHOWERS AND MEALS (PICKED UP BY NATIONAL NEWS OUTLETS IN WHICH WE WERE NAMED, INCLUDING THE WASHINGTON POST). - WE RAN A 13-PART SERIES IN DECEMBER ON GOVERNMENT FINANCE AND YOU, TO EXPLAIN THE BUDGET CHALLENGES FACING LOCAL GOVERNMENTS. - WE HOSTED THREE CITY COUNCIL/MAYORAL CANDIDATE FORUMS IN OUR THREE COVERED CITIES: EDMONDS, LYNNWOOD AND MOUNTLAKE TERRACE. THE LYNNWOOD FORUM WAS COHOSTED BY OUR PARTNER SE HABLA MEDIA AND TRANSLATED INTO SPANISH FOR THEIR VIEWERS. WE ALSO HOSTED ISSUES FORUMS ON REGIONAL FIRE AUTHORITY ANNEXATION AND A PROPOSED EDMONDS LEVY LID LIFT PROPERTY TAX INCREASE.- WE SPONSORED A MOVIE SCREENING OF STRIPPED FOR PARTS, SHOWCASING THE TAKEOVER OF LOCAL MEDIA BY HEDGE FUNDS, FOLLOWED BY A PANEL DISCUSSION WITH LOCAL JOURNALISTS.- MANAGING EDITOR NICK NG TOOK FIRST PLACE IN THE 2024 EXCELLENCE IN JOURNALISM AWARDS SPONSORED BY THE SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISTS (SPJ) REGION 10.
