The Ambassador Program and Community Outreach - KCSV's leadership created this program in 8 faith communities of color across the District. The program provided the following services and support to 1,567 older adults. Connections to various District provided resources ,transportation resources, access to a vetted list of service providers, connections to programming from a variety of community organizations such as the 13 Villages in DC, Sibley Hospital, the DC library and others. Community Outreach included, providing food resources to well over 100 seniors weekly, participating in community events and activities, collaborating with partner organizations to provide seniors with care items such as toiletries, prepared meals and transportation, maintaining and/or developing new partnerships such as AARP and the Anacostia Coordinating Council (currently 24) and serve as the liaison for connection and referrals to other senior service providers.
