Major achievements of 2024:The different committees worked tirelessly to help improve humanity through our organization and members especially the committee chairs put in several hours to record these accomplishments.Council of President Committee (CPC) This committee meet first Sunday every other month from 7pm 10pm for 18 hours a year.National Working Committee (NWC) - In 2024, the National Working Committee met very month except May because of Mothers Day, each meeting lasting over 3 hours. It means that each member of the NWC donated over 30 hours in 2024 to the development of NANNNA.National Conference Planning Committee (NCPC) This committee involves about 40 NANNNA Leaders who meets about 3-4 hours every month for planning of NANNNA annual scientific conference that attracts over 400 attendees.Medical Mission Committee NANNNA organizes Health/Education missions to different states in Nigeria through take NANNNA to your village health initiatives and encourages members to go back to their villages and states to help improve the health of the community. Members volunteer their time,money and expertise to help their community through preventive health screenings and health education. Our individual and collective efforts towards improving the health and quality of lives of Nigerians at home and abroad is second to none. Adoption of 30 Primary Health Centers (PHCs) with over 20,000 patients benefiting from completed PHCs Education Mission Committee This committee in collaboration with the NCPC organizes our annual conference that is a testament to our commitment to advancing the nursing profession and improving the health outcomes of our patients and communities. It is an opportunity for us to come together,share our knowledge and expertise, and learn from one another. As healthcare professionals, we know that nursing is a critical component of the healthcare system. Nurses are on the front lines of patient care, providing compassionate and skilled care to those in need. They are the backbone of our healthcare system, and we owe them a debt of gratitude for their tireless work. Our 2024 Scientific International Conference took place November 7-9, 2024 in Hilton Raleigh North Hills Hotel, with about 600 participants. The Theme of the conference: Global Health Priorities: Nursing at the center of Healthcare.Diaspora Professionals Healthcare Initiative (DPHI): NANNNA in collaboration with Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA) and National Association of Nigerian Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists in the Americas (NAPPSA) provide quarterly Webinar Series to model inter-professional collaboration and discuss cross-cutting topics to improve patient services here and in Nigeria.Academic Achievement: NANNNA is committed to the academic and professional development of its members. NANNNAs Academic Achievement Award is an excellent way to recognize members who have advanced their career. The award is given each year, during NANNNAs Annual Conference. About 40 members got their MSN. DNP/PhDs this year.Newsletter Committee - The newsletter committee remains committed to publishing issues related to nursing, the organization, and individual members of NANNNA. The committee reached out to members to submit articles to the newsletter e-mail. The newsletter was published in the first half of the year. Guidelines for submission of articles were sent frequently to the National Working Committee to encourage members to submit articles meeting publication criteria to NANNNA newsletter email. At the National scientific conference and throughout the year, each chapter of NANNNA was encouraged to send representatives to NANNNA Newsletter.The committee have grown in Membership from about 12 to 15 members. The committee is committed to being the Image maker for the organization.Research Committee The research committee meets 2-3 hours every 3 months and is focusing on helping members with getting IRB for their research study .MOU/Collaboration Committee - we continue to Maintain-our MOU with Grand Canyon University for 23% tuition discount for our members.-our MOU with Walden University for 23% tuition discount for our members-our MOU with Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria help to guide our programs in NigeriaMembership Committee - There is power in number. The committee revamped chapter membership application and increased membership to about 25 NANNNA State Chapters now. With increase in membership, it will help shape nursing/healthcare policy in Nigeria and in North America.Other Program accomplishmentsNigerian Nurse Educator Scholarships Initiative - NANNNA acquired funding from Health Carousel Foundation for the scholarships to develop nurse educators within Nigeria. This initiative which is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, aims to support, and empower Colleges of Nursing Education, improve the staff strength of the institution in Nigeria. Twenty Nurses got the scholarship this year.Continue to collaborate with Grand Canyon University and Walden University to increase the number of Nigerian nurses in the USA with PhD, BSN and MSN. Also, NANNA members get 23% tuition discount.Collaborated with Western Africa College of Nursing and Nurses on Air to develop a structure for image of nursing initiative in Nigeria.Domestic violence committee Domestic violence leadership continues to participate in the National working leadership meeting.Conference 2024: Abstract submission and Presentation at the 2024 conference in North Carolina: Raising awareness/education about DV through local chaptersParticipation and Membership: Continue to encourage active chapters participations.Committee quarterly meetings.The Information Technology (IT) Committee continues to provide webinar on establishing strategic plans, principles, and policies relevant to information technology. Committee provided IT-related projects and technology architecture initiatives, including database software platforms,conference management software, website, and email management system. APRN Committee: APRN database: continued APRN data collection and updates.APRN Committee at chapter levels: Advocated that each NANNNA Chapter should have their own APRN Committee at chapter levels.Conference speakers: Members were podium presenters at the 2024 national conferencein North Carolina. Meetings: Consistently held bimonthly meetings, including skill set and presentation by members.Membership: Membership drive increased number of members to over 100 members andgrowing.Member Support: provided member support during life-changing events such as bereavements, graduations, etc.NANNNA NWC Representation: APRN committee was regularly present committee reports at NANNNA National Working Committee meetings.Professional Advancement: Nine APRNs received their DNP. There were no APRNs thatreceived PhD degrees in 2024.
