Through land stewardship training programs, Garden Time prepares incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals for the workforce, equipping traditionally underserved populations with the skills, self-confidence and support they need to successfully transition to long-term employment and a productive life in the community. We provide prison-based gardening and food production education to incarcerated Rhode Islanders alongside job skills and reentry support. We also provide community-based green industry job training for formerly incarcerated individuals through the Green Reentry Job Training Program twice annually. In addition, we employ graduates in our "Canopy Crew" to maintain young street trees in low-canopy Providence neighborhoods.
