The Husky Marching Band Alumni Association raises funds through the efforts of the Husky Alumni Band that contribute to a growing scholarship fund for the University of Washington Varsity Band. Unlike most years, due to COVID-19 safety precautions and cancellation of University events, the Alumni Band was unable to perform in and around the stadium for fans on game days. The band also had limited opportunities to perform for private functions, though we were able to hold one outdoor pep band rally in 2020 with all proceeds going to support current students in Varsity Band. The University of Washington Husky Varsity Band was also greatly impacted by the pandemic this past year, and was unable to hold regular classes nor able to perform together. Thus, combined with an abnormal lack of enrollment and our Alumni Association's lack of funds raised, the Varsity band Director opted to have our organization save our scholarship fund pool to disburse in 2021. We are looking forward to getting back out in the community and performing!
