The NW Energy Coalition is an alliance of over 100 environmental, civic, and human service organizations, utilities, and businesses in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and British Columbia, plus many individual members. The NW Energy Coalition advances clean, equitable, and affordable energy policies by leveraging our analytic expertise and convening a broad alliance of people and organizations.

POLICY: The Coalition engages in in-depth policy analysis and advocacy on a wide range of energy policy and regulatory issues at the utility, state, regional and federal level. NWEC convenes disparate voices and perspectives to engage in dialogue, come to a common understanding and move forward with shared solutions. Our work advances utility and government energy efficiency and renewable energy programs to reduce climate pollution and create an equitable clean energy system, including energy codes and standards, low-income and equity-focused energy programs, community and utility scale renewable energy, and power market and transmission planning. Policy work analyzes regulatory issues including rate design, utility business models, electrification of transportation and decarbonization of buildings, and energy system impacts of changes to hydroelectric dams in the Columbia River basin.

OUTREACH: The Coalition convenes its members and the wider community to engage in dialogue on clean energy and climate policy developments affecting individual Northwest states and the region as a whole, including information on energy efficiency, renewable energy, consumer/low-income issues, decarbonization of the energy sector, and protection of fish and wildlife imperiled by the power system. This is done through state caucus meetings, full member meetings, webinars, and conferences.
