Providing technical support to ensure that Washington State farmers markets remain a vital source of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods, promoting healthy eating and active living for everyone. WSFMA's Regional Leads provide technical support for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), public and private matching programs, as well as local food access initiatives. Our work help ensures farmers markets be energizing, experiential environments where people learn how to stretch budgets to create healthy meals, are introduced to new kinds of local crops and varieties, get inspired by healthy recipes, engage kids in fun, hands-on learning, and build social ties by sharing space with neighbors.
