Host family and community social events across the Puget Sound region, providing a supportive, non-judgemental environment for people with down syndrome, their families and friends, facilitating communication between families with similar experiences. Community activities include holiday party, fashion show, picnic, sweetheart dance, spring fling, megarama day and "Trunk or Treat". New parent packets are made available to local hospitals to educate parents about care of and services available for babies with down syndrome.Sponsor the annual Puget Sound Buddy Walk, an event where approximately 1300 people with down syndrome, family, friends, educators, therapists, legislators and community leaders promote advocacy, awareness and networking around down syndrome.Learning program designed to teach childrent with down syndrome and their parents skill development for literacy, math, language and fine motor skills. This program is designed to supplement traditional education, focusing on parents as the first teachers for their children.
