They also used the grant funding to purchase land that will be used in a land trust program where the organization will own the land to perpetuity therefore ensuring the homes residing on the land the organization owns will always be used for low-income families. The Association is currently collecting on the underlying mortgages of the home sales, & down payment assistance programs, the proceeds of which will be used to enable the Association to build future low income housing projects, provide additional down payment assistance to qualifying families, or purchase additional land through their land lease program. In addition, the Association is currently providing homeownership counseling to qualified individuals who are in the process of purchasing homes.
