RODEL IS ONE OF MANY PARTNERS INVOLVED IN THE NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED DELAWARE PATHWAYS INITIATIVE, A PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP THAT INCLUDES THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE, HIGHER EDUCATION, AND MAJOR LOCAL EMPLOYERS--ALL WORKING TOWARD CREATING MEANINGFUL JOB EXPERIENCES AND COLLEGE-LEVEL COURSES FOR HIGH SCHOOLERS. RODEL WORKED WITH PARTNERS TO CREATE CONDITIONS FOR MORE THAN 30,000 STUDENTS STATEWIDE TO PARTICIPATE IN PATHWAY EXPERIENCES. RODEL HAS WORKED WITH DISTRICT AND STATE PARTNERS TO DEVELOP A STRATEGY THAT SUPPORT THE RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION OF TEACHERS OF COLOR. THIS WORK HAS INCLUDED CREATING EARLY EXPOSURE OPPORTUNITIES FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, SCALING HIGH-QUALITY TEACHER PREPARATION PROGRAMS, BUILDING A STATEWIDE TEACHER LEADERSHIP FRAMEWORK, AND SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF CULTURALLY AFFIRMING SCHOOLS. RODEL AND ITS PARTNER ORGANIZATION, THE VISION COALITION, HAVE CONVENED HUNDREDS OF LEADERS, COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND EDUCATORS ON A VARIETY IMPORTANT ISSUES ACROSS SEVERAL EVENTS, RANGING FROM EQUITABLE STUDENT FUNDING TO CAREER PATHWAYS, TO DIVERSIFYING THE EDUCATOR WORKFORCE.
