SAVE THE RAIN PROVIDES IMPROVISHED COMMUNITIES WITH ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER, FOOD SECURITY, REFORESTATION, SANITATION AND HYGIENE SOLUTIONS, ASSISTANCE FOR THE DISABLED, SCHOLARSHIP POSSIBILITIES AND GENERAL SUPPORT. OUR CLEAN WATER PROJECTS ARE SUSTAINED BY HARVESTING THE RAIN. OUR CORPORATE PARTNER COVERS ALL OF OUR OPERATING EXPENSES SO THAT 100% OF PUBLIC DONATION DIRECTLY FUNDS PROJECTS. This year, in Tanzania, we constructed 804 rainwater harvesting systems and greenhouses. 1,500 families received support and vegetable starts for their greenhouses and residential gardens. 6 new villages with 9,000 primary school students and approximately 30,000 people received access to clean drinking water and food security. 10 primary schools received emergency food relief. 2,100 trees were planted. 30 scholarships were awarded. 7 local womens cooperatives were formally registered and contracted with Save the Rain to expand the work. More than 400 jobs were created. We continued our food security program in New Zealand and worked with local organization on plans to mimic programs in Tanzania.
