Martial Arts in the Public Interest dba Quantum Martial Arts Seattle and Quantum Martial Arts Tacoma has a mission to reveal personal strengths and interconnect diverse communities through the joyful pursuit of Quantum Martial Arts. Located in Seattle and Tacoma WA, we operate two community martial arts dojos. We bring people together to learn a unique style of martial arts in a welcoming, non-competitive environment. Our style focuses on empowerment, practical self-defense, and revealing personal strength. The style is the creation of Master Rachael Evans, who has been exploring and expanding her martial arts for over 40 years. We provide an intense, fun exercise, and Quantum is more than just a workout. Quantum's outreach programs change the lives of children and adults in various places in Washington. In 2025, we built out and opened Quantum Tacoma.

SELF DEFENSE: Quantum provides Empowerment Self Defense classes for free to the public and as a fee for service to companies and organizations. In 2025, we delivered both our Empowerment Self Defense 101 workshop and our 3 part self defense workshop series. This series includes advance empowerment techniques, defenses and escapes from the ground, and an introduction to anti-oppression skills. We delivered 4 basic classes and 1 series as a public service. We delivered 3 fee for services classes to local business and nonprofits include two new classes in safety training and balance and falling safely. General operating funds, volunteer time, and donated travel expenses support our self defense programs.
