The WANP offers continuing education seminars and conferences for naturopathic physicians and other healthcare professionals.1)The WANPs educational offerings are open to any health care practitioners or students. Its 2023 annual conference drew approximately 160 attendees and its 2023 business/practice management seminar drew approximately 35 attendees. Its educational content is available for purchase year-round through the website and that draws many others throughout the profession both locally and nationally.2)The objective is to promote the on-going education of the naturopathic profession. Continuing medical education is a requirement to maintain licensure. Business-focused education is useful in contributing to the survival and success of the profession.

The WANP develops and provides benefits for its members, emphasizing cost savings, clinical tools, and business and financial resources, as well as opportunities to network and engage with the professional community.1) The WANPs member benefits and services are meant to provide support and resources for WANP members, which number nearly 500. That said, the entire profession whether members or not tends to rely heavily on the WANP for information and guidance. The WANP maintains active social media accounts, an informative website, and a large newsletter contact list. In 2023, WANP hosted networking/social activities as part of its 2 major events of the year(continuing education conference and business/practice management seminar) plus one additional local gathering for networking and case study. 2) The objective is to provide useful member benefits, content, and resources and to create space for community-building and networking for the profession.

The WANP represents the interests of its members to the Washington State legislature and to other local, state, and federal government entities.1)The advocacy work of the WANP has tremendous impact on the more than 1,600 licensed naturopathic physicians in Washington State and, often, on naturopathic physicians throughout the country. The WANP pays for a contract lobbyist to represent the interests of the profession to the Washington State Legislature, and WANPs Executive Director also routinely works to advocate for the profession within public and private industry as well (e.g. transit, insurance providers, disability approvers, other nonprofit organizations, etc.).2)The objective is to protect, promote, and advance the legal scope of practice and recognition of naturopathic physicians in Washington State.
