YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: THE ANCHORAGE COMMUNITY YMCA IS COMMITTED TO NURTURING THE SKILLS AND RELATIONSHIPS THAT LEAD TO POSITIVE BEHAVIORS, BETTER HEALTH, AND EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT. OUR YMCA YOUTH PROGRAMS INCLUDE BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CHILD CARE, SUMMER DAY CAMP, RESIDENT CAMP AND YOUTH SPORTS CHILD AND TEEN. WE BELIEVE THAT ALL KIDS DESERVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY CAN ACHIEVE. THAT'S WHY WE HELP YOUNG PEOPLE CULTIVATE A RANGE OF EXPERIENCES THAT ENRICH COGNITIVE, SOCIAL, PHYSICAL, AND EMOTIONAL GROWTH. EXPENSES INCLUDE SUBSIDIES AND DIRECT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE THAT MAKE PARTICIPATION POSSIBLE FOR OVER 20 PERCENT OF THE YOUNG PEOPLE IN OUR PROGRAMS.
