The Hyder community building houses a community meeting room, library, fire hall, and office. The grounds include parking and playground equipment. The US Forest Service rents an office space in the building. The former water plant is used as a rental space for the Forest Service and Alaska State Trooper vehicles.
The Hyder Library is open to Hyder residents as well as seasonal visitors. Services include internet access, book and DVD collection, computers, and printer/scanners.
