The kitchen served approximately 2630 congregate meals and 885 meals on wheels (MOW) one day per week. In addition to these meals, MOW served an additional 1750 meals from local vendors. The kitchen had 10 volunteers for 2023 for a total number of 519 hours.The Center holds several fundraising events throughout the year: Bingo, Gun Show, Yard Sales, Annual Membership Dinner, New Years Eve Dinner, and Holiday Bazaar. They also hold several free events for community members to enjoy: An Easter Egg Hunt, Breakfast with Santa, and Fathers Day Community BBQ.In addition, the Center is used to host different events such as the Susitna Community Council monthly meetings, AA Sobriety weekly meetings, Homemakers Monthly and Annual Meetings, CERT Training, AARP Tax Help and Sunshine Community Clinic Health Fair.The center also had classes during 2023 such as Active Shooter, Medicare Lunch Information and Learning Session, Alzheimers Classes, Beginning Computer Classes, and monthly Sunshine Clinic Blood Pressure checks.We also hosted a field trip for our local day care center and a fund raiser for two of our members that lost their home to a house fire.
