DIVINE DIGNITY IS A NONPROFIT TOUCHING LIVES BY OFFERING DIGNITY AND HOPE THROUGH DISTRIBUTING FREE HYGIENE PRODUCTS AND SHARING GOD'S LOVE AND HOPE. HYGIENE IS OFTEN A LARGELY UNMET NEED IN LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES. MANY ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDE FOOD, SHELTER, AND CLOTHING TO THOSE IN NEED, BUT HYGIENE IS NOT ONE OF THE RECOGNIZED NEEDS. WE DISTRIBUTED MORE THAN 10,000 BAGS OF HYGIENE PRODUCTS WITH AN ESTIMATED VALUE OF 30 EACH TO LOW-INCOME PEOPLE AND FAMILIES THROUGHOUT THE COLUMBUS AREA. THIS YEAR, WE HAVE A TOTAL OF SIX HYGIENE CENTERS, AND WE ADDED NEW PARTNERS TO INCREASE OUR TOTAL TO TWENTY HYGIENE CLOSETS LOCATED IN SECURE CITY COMMUNITY CENTERS, FREE MEDICAL CLINICS, RECOVERY PROGRAMS, SCHOOLS, AND CHURCHES TO DISTRIBUTE ESSENTIAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS AND FLIERS ABOUT DIVINE DIGNITY AND OUR MESSAGE OF SHARING GOD'S LOVE. OUR PRODUCTS COME THROUGH IN-KIND AND MONETARY DONATIONS MADE BY OUR SUPPORTERS. WE HAVE A HYGIENE COLLECTION PROGRAM THAT PLACES SIGNS AND BINS IN LOCAL AREA CHURCHES, SALONS, AND OTHER BUSINESSES TO COLLECT DONATIONS. THIS EFFORT IS SUPPORTED BY APPROXIMATELY 6,000 HOURS DONATED BY OUR 80 VOLUNTEERS, STAFF, AND DIRECTORS. A PORTION OF OUR OUTREACH IS TO THE TEEN COMMUNITY. THE DIGNITEENS PROGRAM PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR LOCAL TEENS FROM CHURCHES AND SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS TO HELP PROVIDE PERSONAL CARE HYGIENE ITEMS TO LOW-INCOME TEENS. THE DIGNITY 4 KIDS PROGRAM WORKS WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS TO MAKE HYGIENE PRODUCTS AVAILABLE TO SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN WHO LACK THIS NECESSITY, THEREBY REMOVING THIS POTENTIAL BARRIER TO ATTENDANCE. WE HAVE ALSO INCREASED OUR OUTREACH TO VETERANS' PROGRAMS AND HOMELESS SHELTERS.
