Recruitment of Students: Sergeant Major Gary Schoolfield (career coach) worked extensively with the Canyon Springs staff to finalize the identification of the first cohort. Working in collaboration with the Canyon Springs High School CTE Teachind and Training Program, students were place in six credits of university-level coursework in the fall. Training on using the Empower Planner tool was provided in September, and students began using the journaling tool. The Career Coach began meeting with students in August to provide them with academic guidance. Weekly meetings began in September and provided students with continuous academic coaching and support. Numberous meeting were held with the career coach, SSEF staff, Canyon Springs High School staff, and and leadership from UNLV to ensure proper program implementation. AN MOU was created with SSEF and CCSD, and all required collateral materials were submitted. Students enrolled in six university credits for the spring semester. Recruitment materials for Cohort 1 retention were developed, and parent/student conferences scheduled for January 2025. Materials for Cohort 2 were revised and utilized in January recruitment presentations. the fall survey and grade analysis were disaggregated and submitted to CNLV in October.

Coursework Experiences Cohort 1 Junior Class: Sergeant Major Schoolfield (career coach) met weekly with students and sent weekly updates to parents. After completing the first quarter grade analysis, a tutoring system was developed and implemented to support struggling students. Several meetings were held with SSEF staff and key academic partners, e.g., Clark County School District (CCSD) and the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV). In December, the decision was made to continue to work with the Rebel Teacher program and expand to include work with the Rebel Start Academy. Job shadowing and tutoring experience plans have been developed for spring semester implementation.

Student Engagement in Tutorial Experience at Neighboring CCSD Elementary School and Teacher Training was provided to City of Nevada at Las Vegas (CNLV) and Clark County School (CCSD) Teachers: Students participated in training and multi-week tutoring hands-on experience. CCSD teachers in the City of North Las Vegas were provided with a variety of course offerings free of chage, thus providing them additional staff development and training.
