The Employee Assistance Fund was created in 2023 to be of assistance to the many employees of the Seabrook Island Club, and eventually to eligible employees of the Seabrook Island Property Owners' Association and the Town of Seabrook Island. The fund is supported by donations and by various fundraising events held by the Fund.Seabrook Island Employee Assistance FundThe Seabrook Island Employee Assistance Fund helps employees who are experiencing economic hardship and are unable to afford housing, utilities, and other basic living needs because of a natural disaster; life threatening illness or injury; death or other catastrophic or unforeseen circumstances. Awards may be made in the amount of the hardship up to $4,000. The maximum award is not guaranteed, and in many cases, a lesser amount will be awarded. All payments are made directly to vendors; no assistance funds will be sent directly to applicants and applicants will not be reimbursed. An employee can only be approved for assistance once within a six month period. (Continued on Schedule O) Scholarship FundThe Nancy Beaudway Memorial Scholarship Fund will be launched in early 2026 to allow employees, who qualify, to apply for funding to assist with educational needs such as tuition, certifications or classes to help them become educated in whatever field they choose.Fundraising EventsThe Bourbon, Bluegrass Benefit was a successful fundraising event on March 20, 2025 which included bourbon tastings, a bluegrass quarter, creative food options and a live auction. Approximately $70,000 was raised through ticket sales, sponsorships and live auction items while promoting awareness about the Seabrook Island Employee Assistance Fund.The 2026 spring fundraising event will be the Bootleggers Bash to be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026. This event will offer a 1920's speakeasy type theme with live music, a spirited menu and live auction items. We hope to raise close to $70,000 once again.
