At Kidz Eatz our mission is to combat childhood hunger and promote food security among vulnerable children in our community. We believe that no child should have to experience the distress of going hungry which is why we are dedicated to providing nutritious meals to schools where students have been identified as food insecure. Kidz Eatz operates on the principle of compassion and generosity. We rely on the unwavering support of our donors who enable us to carry out our mission without any cost burden on the schools or individuals we serve. With each donation we can make a tangible difference in the lives of these children giving them a brighter future filled with hope and opportunity. This year we served 16 schools in Baldwin County Alabama. The number of children served varied from delivery to delivery with the approximate number being 500 children receiving weekend backpacks of food each weekend. The cost of a pack of food for one child for one weekend is approximately $6.58 The child receives this pack of food each weekend of the school year 35 weeks. No one child family or school pays anything for the food. It is entirely funded by our generous contributors who donate money and food and some revenue earned from a Charity Derby Dayz fundraiser.
