Haa Toch Licheesh implemented cultural healing programs centered on cultural connection belonging and Indigenous ways of knowing. Programs included Kayaan we Nakwx_ Site Plant Medicine Workshops trainings focused on the harvesting preparation and use of traditional medicines foods and plant allies. HTL also co-hosted weekly Lingt language classes in spring and fall sessions where students developed self-selected projects to deepen their engagement with language revitalization and cultural preservation. Indigenous leaders facilitated traditional ocean dipping ceremonies during new moons offering trauma-informed spaces for cold water strength training rooted in survivorship and ancestral healing practices. In addition the Yees Dis Circle convened coalition partners during new moons for ancestral healing moon mapping and monthly intention-setting aligned with lunar cycles to strengthen environmental connection and collective wellbeing. HTL also offered in-school after-school and community-based youth programming to increase safety belonging and connection for youth within the Juneau School District and across the community.

Haa Toch Licheesh centers community voice relational leadership and the restoration of healthy systems. As a coalition our strength lies in relationships. With over 30 partner organizations-from tribal governments and grassroots groups to schools local businesses and regional entities-we are working together toward a shared vision of healing. Our model is rooted in culture and grounded in collaboration mutual accountability and collective care. Partners contribute in diverse ways based on their capacity and alignment with HTLs goals including co-implementation shared learning and in-kind support. We convene partners through workgroups meetings and community celebrations to strengthen coordination and deepen trust across Southeast Alaska. HTL is also part of the Sustainable Southeast Partnerships Collective Impact Network where we host the Regional Healing Catalyst and are working to expand HTLs healing programs regionally.

HTL strengthened organizational infrastructure by drafting core policies and procedures and launching as a fully functioning 501c3 on July 1 2024. With this foundation in place HTL partnered with organizations across Alaska to support inclusive and trauma-informed workplaces through sustained learning opportunities and cultural engagement for staff coalition partners and key leaders. This included implementing Reflective Practices to strengthen professional wellbeing accountability and skill-building-supporting professionals to deepen self-awareness shift perspective and create spaces where community healing work is affirmed and supported. HTL also continued offering First Alaskans Institutes facilitator training-supporting more than 100 trained Hosts statewide from schools organizations and communities throughout Alaska. HTL also supported the development of the Lateral KINdness curriculum to strengthen shared language and practice for relational accountability and collective care. HTL also advanced truth racial healing and transformation efforts rooted in healing from boarding school harms through community partnerships and initiatives such as Orange Shirt Day a healing ceremony at the Mayflower School and restorative cemetery clean-up efforts in the wake of Boarding School Tribunals. This work was carried out in partnership with accountability partners including Alaska Quakers Seeking Right Relationship with Indigenous Peoples the Juneau Montessori School now located in the Mayflower building and the First Alaskans Institute.
